Our nursery really does meet the needs of the babies and young children in our care. We have homely, comfortable, bright rooms, cosy corners, creative outdoor play areas and a variety of equipment providing children with stimulating environments in which to thrive. In July 2018 we were inspected by Ofsted and received a ‘Good Rating’ which we are very proud of.
All of our activities are planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and our staff are knowledgeable and highly trained in all aspects of this.
We have a Tennis Coach who comes in on a weekly basis to introduce our Over 2s children to tennis. This also helps with coordination, taking turns, fitness and team building. We also have French sessions for our older children where early introductions to the language, culture and songs are an extra skill for our children. We have recently introduced our Cookery Club where our Nursery Chef, Andrea teaches the children basic cookery skills. This involves measuring, mixing, rolling and selling their finished products to our parents!
Our aim is for every child to be happy and healthy, enjoying their early years at our nursery and for parents to have peace of mind that their children are in excellent hands. Children have the chance to enjoy regular dance, drama, music and art activities, which are all inclusive, and help them to become creative, thoughtful, confident and imaginative little people. Learning through the arts is something we believe really enhances the early years experiences of young children and benefits them in years to come.
We have a Baby Room (0-2 years) for our youngest children with a separate sleep area. We have stimulating and exciting toys and equipment in this area as well as quiet corners where our little ones can rest and take in what is going on around them. Floaty scarves, instruments, shimmery material and wiggly dances enhance their days in this room.
Our Over 2’s room is a hive of activity, whether the children are getting messy with gloop, sand or water, it’s all great fun. Our emphasis is on learning through play in this room. Musical instruments, pom poms, stretchy Lycra and lots of styles of dancing and drama games are experienced in our Over 2’s room.
For our Pre School children, we focus on preparation for Primary School through play. We encourage the children to make their own decisions and make their own choices so that they start to grow in confidence and independence ready for big school. The day becomes more structured – but there is still time for trying out lots of styles of dancing, playing recorders and an array of exciting instruments as well as creating arty pieces of work for the mantelpiece!
Children enjoy lots of tasty food here. We have freshly cooked food delivered to us on a daily basis. Breakfast is served in the morning and there are healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day. Both lunch and tea have two courses. We also include foods to help celebrate different festivals and events from around the world as they come up throughout the year. We can cater for all dietary requirements and special requests.
Our outdoor area is second to none. So much space to run around, play games and enjoy the fresh air. We have lots of toys and equipment to keep the children busy.
We get creative in the garden with art activities, singing and playing music on our music wall. We also have a mud kitchen complete with sink, oven and microwave so that children can pretend they are making their mud pies for real.
Our performance space has classical music, nursery rhymes and jazzy tunes playing from it as our children enjoy some dancing and outdoor story time.
We also have another large outdoor area, our ‘Adventure Area’ where the children will be able to build dens, play balancing games and enjoy playing hide and seek. We sometimes have a tent up in this area and this section of the garden really has a feel of being in the big outdoors – perfect for the children to explore.
